ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGES AT FIRST AVENUE GARAGE AND T STATION!

THE AUTHORITY IS PLEASED TO REPORT THAT ADDITIONAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND ACTIVATED IN THE FIRST AVENUE GARAGE.

THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 3 SINGLE CHARGERS AND 6 DUAL CHARGERS WITH THE CAPACITY TO CHARGE 15 ELECTRIC VEHICLES AT THIS GARAGE.

The charging stations are highly visible and clearly marked. They are located on the 3rd Floor of the First Avenue Garage adjacent to the T-Station and Elevator lobby.

The Authority would like to report a second location for the placement of two (2) Eaton level II Dual Electric Vehicle Chargers in the Red Garage at the Grant Street Transportation Center located on the 2nd Floor . These Charges can charge four vehicles with a 4 hour charging time.

They are now live.

The four parking spaces dedicated to the EV charging stations are highly visible and clearly marked and signed and are close to the 2nd Floor Elevators.

Parking Court will not be conducting in person hearings or accepting in person payments until further notice. Online hearing requests can be submitted and will be processed as normal. Payments for impounded vehicles can be made at McGann and Chester towing 700 Hargrove St Monday thru Friday between 9:00AM-6:00PM.

This City of Pittsburgh has identified neighborhoods that can benefit from the Residential Parking Program. The purpose of the program is to maintain a system of shared use for parking spaces in neighborhoods that could be negatively impacted by commercial use. Rather than restrict parking completely, hourly time limits are established to adequately support turnover, yet still provide limited short- term parking for surrounding businesses. Additionally, the program discourages long term parking for those that work in the area or attend classes at neighboring Universities. The program seeks to guide long term parkers to paid parking lots or monthly lease opportunities.
Residents of these communities have the opportunity to buy an annual pass that exempts them from the time limited parking and allows the purchase of visitor parking permits that will exempt their guest from the restricted parking times. How the program works:
  • Signage showing the zone and the parking limits is placed on the approved streets.
  • The public may park in the area spaces for the duration of the time listed on the signage (usually restricted to 1-2 hours)
  • Vehicles parking in that zoned area (not just one parking space) beyond the restricted time may be ticketed
  • Tickets believed to be issued in error can be appealed through Parking Court
